CONCEPT
Savor a special moment in a traditional Kyoto machiya overlooking the Kamo River
Strolling along Kiyamachi from Shijo with the Takase River in sight, you will come across a small lantern.
Tucked away at the end of a narrow cobblestone alley, the Kyoto Kamogawa Club’s main branch is a traditional sukiya-zukuri style townhouse.
Guests are welcomed by an impressive wooden counter made from a single piece of Japanese horse chestnut.
Originally used as a corporate guest house far from the hustle and bustle of the street, the interior radiates a soothing sense of calm.
Infused with uniquely Japanese harmony and warmth, the private rooms are inspired by tea ceremony rooms, and the grand hall overlooks the Kamo River. In summer, guests can enjoy Kyoto’s seasonal delight, “Noryo-kawadoko” (summer riverbed dining).
Featuring an abundance of seasonal ingredients with a delicate touch of Kyoto-style essence, our authentic Italian cuisine is perfect both for special occasions and everyday pleasures.
Whether for lunch with friends, important business negotiations or family gatherings, savor the refined ambience, wholeheartedly prepared cuisine and Kyoto’s “omotenashi” (heartfelt hospitality).
